Keraton Indonesian Festival 2018
Keraton 2018 is the 7th annual Indonesian Festival that is organized by Indonesian Student Association at the University of Washington (ISAUW). This year, I have the opportunity to lead a team of five extremely talented visual designers, photographers, and videographers to create marketing materials including but not limited to posters, flyers, social media content, and video teasers leading up to the event.
The very first step of creating all of the marketing materials for Keraton is deciding a color palette and font that will be used on all of the design too make sure that all of the design correlates to each other. Therefore, as a team, we came up with a design guide.
With a crowd of over 12,000 guests, the communications and outreach team created a list of marketing materials to support the preparations and operations of the event.
1. Sponsorship Proposal
The proposal is designed to attract prospective sponsors to support our event. Containing a letter from the president, the organization's vision and mission, Keraton's concept, venue, budget breakdown, and sponsorship packages, I want to make sure that the prospective sponsors can truly understand the organizations goals and the event's purpose.
2. Poster
Since the theme of this year's Keraton is to share the stories of Indonesian folktale, the design team decided to use an illustration of Pak Raden as the main icon in the poster. Pak Raden was known as an Indonesian puppeteer and a narrator in a children's television show Si Unyil.
3. Guest Performers Banner
With Youtube sensations Leroy Sanchez and Jeremy Passion as our guest artists this year. I decided that we need a banner to promote these artists to make sure to widen our audience list. I made sure to keep the banner simple and straightforward while keeping all of the details about the event.
4. Visitor's Handbook
The handbook is designed to be the visitor's guide during the event. It includes information about raffle prizes, a guide map, attractions, menu, and event rundown.
